I had a cake smash session with sweet Lawson recently, and I cannot even tell you how much fun we had shooting this. This kid kept us laughing and giggling the entire time. Instead of actually eating his cake, he decided that finger painting was a much better idea. His expressions had us cracking up. Cake smashes are one of my favorite types of sessions because they’re so fun. Incredibly messy, but so, so fun! Check out some of the highlights from his session!
Wow, this past year has FLOWN by! Scarlett turned a year old today and we had her cake smash session the other day to document this milestone. I found a cake maker (Crystal Teets) local to Beaverdam, and she made the most AMAZING rainbow cake for Scarlett’s Rainbow & Unicorn themed birthday party!
We had to do this session first thing in the morning, so poor baby girl was not exactly bright-eyed and bushy tailed. In fact, most of the photos I have of her before the cake were pathetic crocodile teared photos, but I did finally manage a smile or two.
She really enjoyed her cake and was eating like a lady, super daintily and in tiny little pieces. Her big brother looked on and asked no less than a thousand times if he could have a piece… finally we obliged and he couldn’t believe we said yes. They were so adorable… Kellan making these approving grunts with each bite and Scarlett trying to feed everyone pieces. Here are just a couple highlights from their session. Brrrrrrrr, it is SO COLD! I am so ready for summer already. Yes, yes, I know we’re only in January. Well, there is some good news…. I have my home studio up and running! Whooo! I had a 1 year old doing a cake smash session the other day and she is such a little cutie! She was an absolute champ and so fun to photograph. Here are a couple pictures from her session!
