Family Session – Richmond, VA

I have worked with this super sweet family for a few sessions now, and I was so happy that they booked another family session over the fall!  I always enjoy reconnecting with past clients and seeing how much their kids have grown.  It was such a beautiful day in the city and that red dress was the absolute PERFECT choice to contrast against all the greenery around.  It gave the perfect little pop of color for this set.  Their canvas grouping turned out absolutely beautiful and is such a fun added piece for the kids’ playroom!  Here is a quick peek from their family session in Richmond!

Senior Portrait Session – Doswell, VA

I had the pleasure of working with Mason on her senior portraits a couple weeks ago on my farm in Doswell, and I cannot believe how amazingly photogenic this chick is!  Almost every frame was usable and I had the toughest time narrowing her gallery down.  Here are some highlights of my favorite images from her session.

Schedule your own senior portrait session before my fall schedule books up.  We will plan something amazing and unique to you!

Children’s Portrait Session – Doswell, Virginia

I had the pleasure of working with Amanda and her two adorable kids recently.  They were so well behaved and just so sweet!  We discussed wardrobe prior to the session and I was so happy to see that she nailed Adam’s outfit.  He looked like such a little gentleman.  She borrowed a dress from my Client Closet for Kendall and oh my gosh, she looked precious!  That dress is perfect for twirling 😉   I have a few gorgeous dresses available for my littlest clients to borrow that look great for children’s portraits or family photos.  All sessions are styled during the consultation, so if you’re clothing-impaired, don’t worry!  We will get you all dressed perfectly.

Take a look at the images below and you’ll see just a few reasons why I love working with this family!

Unique Senior Session – Richmond, VA

I was recently challenged by this gorgeous high school senior (who happens to be my cousin!) to produce some unique images that would not only capture her radiating beauty, but would also capture her free spirit and artistic soul.

Challenge accepted.  We have since been working together on an extended project, which you will see more of later.  For now, here is a small peek at this shoot portraying Laila as a mysterious gypsy ❤

I’ve had a few babies to snuggle lately after a little newborn dry-spell!  They’re so cute and tiny at this age, and that sure does make me miss my own babies being so little.  But I get to snuggle these babies, pose and photograph them, and send them back to their parents and that is good enough for me!  Ha!

Here is a little peek at Baby E’s recent newborn session!

I had the pleasure of working with Maria and her sweet little boy on a Mommy & Me session for the two of them.  She is a photographer as well, so she knows all too well how important it is for us mommies to actually be IN some of the pictures sometimes 😉  I’m so glad they’ll get to keep these little moments forever.  Here is a peek at their session.

I’ve had so many sessions so far this year and I’m terrible at blogging each and every one, so I am just going to randomly select a few to blog.  And a lot of them will be unicorns because I’ve photographed a ton of them this year!

I LOVED Mallory’s session.  She is a super sweet girl and was so great and so cooperative.  If you have any young children, you know that can always be hit or miss depending on the day.  She was a trooper, despite the cooler weather, and I was so ecstatic to show her mama these images!  Her album and canvas turned out BEAUTIFUL.  I can’t wait for her to see her entire order!

I shot Joe & Liz’s engagement photos last summer and was thrilled when they asked me to photograph their big day.  The time finally arrived for their wedding, and it was a gorgeous event…. fun but elegant, and at a unique venue, The First Lady of Suffolk, in Suffolk, Virginia.

We eyed the weather all afternoon and crossed our fingers, and although it poured during the ceremony (which was in a church, thankfully), it stopped raining just in time for everyone to enjoy the outdoor seating areas at the reception venue, and we were able to get some portraits of the bridal party outdoors as well.

It was a beautiful day and I’m so happy for the newlyweds!  I hope you guys enjoy this small peek at their big day.

If you or someone you know is getting married and looking for a photographer, send them my way!  You can e-mail me at anikacolombo@gmail.com.

With summer in full swing, it’s a great opportunity to get your family portraits updated!  If you’re going on vacation this year, it really is the perfect to get some updated images of your brood all together.  I travel all over and would love to capture some beautiful pictures of your family on the beach, in the mountains, wherever you may be!  I love working in new locations and my sessions are fully planned out in advance so everyone knows what to wear, what we’ll be doing, what types of images we are shooting for, etc.  That way no one is left feeling uncertain about the session.

If you’d like to schedule your summer portrait session, please e-mail me using the contact form on this website (anikacolombo@gmail.com) and we will plan out an amazing session that fits your family’s style and personalities perfectly!

Scarlett’s Cake Smash Session

Wow, this past year has FLOWN by!  Scarlett turned a year old today and we had her cake smash session the other day to document this milestone.  I found a cake maker (Crystal Teets) local to Beaverdam, and she made the most AMAZING rainbow cake for Scarlett’s Rainbow & Unicorn themed birthday party!

We had to do this session first thing in the morning, so poor baby girl was not exactly bright-eyed and bushy tailed.  In fact, most of the photos I have of her before the cake were pathetic crocodile teared photos, but I did finally manage a smile or two.

She really enjoyed her cake and was eating like a lady, super daintily and in tiny little pieces.  Her big brother looked on and asked no less than a thousand times if he could have a piece… finally we obliged and he couldn’t believe we said yes.  They were so adorable… Kellan making these approving grunts with each bite and Scarlett trying to feed everyone pieces.  Here are just a couple highlights from their session.  I love how these images turned out.  I hope you do too!
