I had the pleasure of photographing this adorable little girl recently. She is as sweet as can be and was shy in the beginning, which is very understandable for a kid meeting a new person! I was very shy as a kid, so I feel like I know how to relate and can draw out their personalities… in their own time, of course. Once they see me jumping all over and rolling on the ground like a ninja, me and my big camera just aren’t so scary anymore 😉 We had such a fun time playing together and creating these beautiful images. Watching her dance around like no one was watching and without a care in the world made my heart so happy! We should all live like this.

Unicorn Session – Doswell, VA
Catching up on blog entries here and am so excited to share some of my recent work as I go through all of my summer sessions! I had the opportunity to photograph these beautiful sisters just before the youngest sister had a unicorn-themed birthday! Of course, our unicorn was incredibly excited to be loved on and spoiled by them, and we had the most amazing time romping around the farm while I photographed their incredible bond and their mama savored these last moments of pure childhood innocence. I’m so glad that she will have these photographs of her gorgeous girls to look back on. Here are some of the highlights from their gallery!

Unicorn Session – Doswell, VA
Katie wanted to surprise her husband with some portraits of herself and their girls with my unicorn on our little farm. We had the best time dancing in the fields and enjoying the warm sunshine. The girls did amazing and their session resulted in some absolutely stunning images that they selected on metal prints for their walls (metal wall art for the grandparents too!). I’m so excited to finally share a few images from this fun afternoon!

Mommy & Me Session with Unicorn – Doswell, VA
Renee contacted me because her daughter was turning 3 and having a “Rainbows & Unicorns” birthday party, which of course, is my all time favorite theme! She selected the rose gold sequined top dress with full tulle skirt from my Client Closet for her Devyn to wear. I had such a blast playing with and photographing Devyn, as she has this amazingly sweet and larger than life personality. I am so happy to be able to capture these memories for them to have forever. Here is a look at some of the hand-edited images from their session!
The candid and playful shots were just as fun! I just adore photographing children at this age. They usually make me work for it, but we have such a good time! Devyn got to change into her adorable birthday outfit at the end, and the matching brag books will certainly be a special keepsake for her to have as she grows up!

I’ve had so many sessions so far this year and I’m terrible at blogging each and every one, so I am just going to randomly select a few to blog. And a lot of them will be unicorns because I’ve photographed a ton of them this year!
I LOVED Mallory’s session. She is a super sweet girl and was so great and so cooperative. If you have any young children, you know that can always be hit or miss depending on the day. She was a trooper, despite the cooler weather, and I was so ecstatic to show her mama these images! Her album and canvas turned out BEAUTIFUL. I can’t wait for her to see her entire order!
Scarlett’s Cake Smash Session
Wow, this past year has FLOWN by! Scarlett turned a year old today and we had her cake smash session the other day to document this milestone. I found a cake maker (Crystal Teets) local to Beaverdam, and she made the most AMAZING rainbow cake for Scarlett’s Rainbow & Unicorn themed birthday party!
We had to do this session first thing in the morning, so poor baby girl was not exactly bright-eyed and bushy tailed. In fact, most of the photos I have of her before the cake were pathetic crocodile teared photos, but I did finally manage a smile or two.
She really enjoyed her cake and was eating like a lady, super daintily and in tiny little pieces. Her big brother looked on and asked no less than a thousand times if he could have a piece… finally we obliged and he couldn’t believe we said yes. They were so adorable… Kellan making these approving grunts with each bite and Scarlett trying to feed everyone pieces. Here are just a couple highlights from their session. I love how these images turned out. I hope you do too!
