Children’s Portrait Session – Doswell, Virginia

I had the pleasure of working with Amanda and her two adorable kids recently.  They were so well behaved and just so sweet!  We discussed wardrobe prior to the session and I was so happy to see that she nailed Adam’s outfit.  He looked like such a little gentleman.  She borrowed a dress from my Client Closet for Kendall and oh my gosh, she looked precious!  That dress is perfect for twirling 😉   I have a few gorgeous dresses available for my littlest clients to borrow that look great for children’s portraits or family photos.  All sessions are styled during the consultation, so if you’re clothing-impaired, don’t worry!  We will get you all dressed perfectly.

Take a look at the images below and you’ll see just a few reasons why I love working with this family!

I’ve had a few babies to snuggle lately after a little newborn dry-spell!  They’re so cute and tiny at this age, and that sure does make me miss my own babies being so little.  But I get to snuggle these babies, pose and photograph them, and send them back to their parents and that is good enough for me!  Ha!

Here is a little peek at Baby E’s recent newborn session!

I had the pleasure of working with Maria and her sweet little boy on a Mommy & Me session for the two of them.  She is a photographer as well, so she knows all too well how important it is for us mommies to actually be IN some of the pictures sometimes 😉  I’m so glad they’ll get to keep these little moments forever.  Here is a peek at their session.

I’ve had so many sessions so far this year and I’m terrible at blogging each and every one, so I am just going to randomly select a few to blog.  And a lot of them will be unicorns because I’ve photographed a ton of them this year!

I LOVED Mallory’s session.  She is a super sweet girl and was so great and so cooperative.  If you have any young children, you know that can always be hit or miss depending on the day.  She was a trooper, despite the cooler weather, and I was so ecstatic to show her mama these images!  Her album and canvas turned out BEAUTIFUL.  I can’t wait for her to see her entire order!

With summer in full swing, it’s a great opportunity to get your family portraits updated!  If you’re going on vacation this year, it really is the perfect to get some updated images of your brood all together.  I travel all over and would love to capture some beautiful pictures of your family on the beach, in the mountains, wherever you may be!  I love working in new locations and my sessions are fully planned out in advance so everyone knows what to wear, what we’ll be doing, what types of images we are shooting for, etc.  That way no one is left feeling uncertain about the session.

If you’d like to schedule your summer portrait session, please e-mail me using the contact form on this website (anikacolombo@gmail.com) and we will plan out an amazing session that fits your family’s style and personalities perfectly!

I have been insanely busy scheduling and shooting this year’s Unicorn Sessions.  The weather has been great for most of them, and the kids have had such a blast playing with the unicorn!  I am currently booking into mid June for these speciality sessions, so if you’d like more information or want to go ahead and reserve your spot, please e-mail me as soon as possible so I can get you on my books.

I had a cake smash session with sweet Lawson recently, and I cannot even tell you how much fun we had shooting this.  This kid kept us laughing and giggling the entire time.  Instead of actually eating his cake, he decided that finger painting was a much better idea.  His expressions had us cracking up.  Cake smashes are one of my favorite types of sessions because they’re so fun.  Incredibly messy, but so, so fun!  Check out some of the highlights from his session!

Scarlett’s Cake Smash Session

Wow, this past year has FLOWN by!  Scarlett turned a year old today and we had her cake smash session the other day to document this milestone.  I found a cake maker (Crystal Teets) local to Beaverdam, and she made the most AMAZING rainbow cake for Scarlett’s Rainbow & Unicorn themed birthday party!

We had to do this session first thing in the morning, so poor baby girl was not exactly bright-eyed and bushy tailed.  In fact, most of the photos I have of her before the cake were pathetic crocodile teared photos, but I did finally manage a smile or two.

She really enjoyed her cake and was eating like a lady, super daintily and in tiny little pieces.  Her big brother looked on and asked no less than a thousand times if he could have a piece… finally we obliged and he couldn’t believe we said yes.  They were so adorable… Kellan making these approving grunts with each bite and Scarlett trying to feed everyone pieces.  Here are just a couple highlights from their session.  I love how these images turned out.  I hope you do too!

NOW BOOKING Holiday Mini Sessionsholi

I am now booking for my annual holiday mini sessions!  I am so excited to offer these to my clients each year as a quick, fun, and stress-free way to get their holiday cards and some shopping out of the way.  This year, I am having Santa Claus himself come to these sessions to play with each child!  Each session includes a 10 minute personalized play date with Santa, 25 holiday cards, and 3 digital images.  Add-ons are available, as well as gift vouches for Christmas presents!  For those that do not participate in Santa or Christmas, I will also have a separate area set aside for family portraits.  The price for these sessions is $200 and as always, we will have cookies and hot chocolate, as well as some activities for the kids.

These sessions will take place in Doswell, VA and time slots will go fast!  I do not offer mini sessions very often, so make sure you reserve your space before it’s too late!  I can NOT wait to see all the kid’s faces when they get to interact with Santa!!  He will be reading stories, playing trains, Barbies, ball, etc.  This Santa is totally legit, awesome and down for anything!

If you have any questions about the session, please e-mail me!  And for fun, here is a cute image from last year’s session.  No Santa last year, but everyone loved the milk and cookies!

Rain, rain, go away

This rain sure has been putting a damper on my scheduled portrait sessions, but I am excited to see the fall colors sprouting up.  I’ve been itching to get out and shoot, so this “hurricane” is driving me bonkers.  I do … Continue reading
