I had a cake smash session with sweet Lawson recently, and I cannot even tell you how much fun we had shooting this. This kid kept us laughing and giggling the entire time. Instead of actually eating his cake, he decided that finger painting was a much better idea. His expressions had us cracking up. Cake smashes are one of my favorite types of sessions because they’re so fun. Incredibly messy, but so, so fun! Check out some of the highlights from his session!
Wow, this past year has FLOWN by! Scarlett turned a year old today and we had her cake smash session the other day to document this milestone. I found a cake maker (Crystal Teets) local to Beaverdam, and she made the most AMAZING rainbow cake for Scarlett’s Rainbow & Unicorn themed birthday party!
We had to do this session first thing in the morning, so poor baby girl was not exactly bright-eyed and bushy tailed. In fact, most of the photos I have of her before the cake were pathetic crocodile teared photos, but I did finally manage a smile or two.
She really enjoyed her cake and was eating like a lady, super daintily and in tiny little pieces. Her big brother looked on and asked no less than a thousand times if he could have a piece… finally we obliged and he couldn’t believe we said yes. They were so adorable… Kellan making these approving grunts with each bite and Scarlett trying to feed everyone pieces. Here are just a couple highlights from their session. I love how these images turned out. I hope you do too!
I had the honor of photographing a friend and her sweet family as they wanted some photos to make a big announcement! Emily seriously has the cutest little pout and I had a great time making a fool out of myself just trying to make her laugh #noshame
Can we just take a moment to talk about how ridiculously good looking and photogenic this little family is?! Ahh!
I am now booking for my annual holiday mini sessions! I am so excited to offer these to my clients each year as a quick, fun, and stress-free way to get their holiday cards and some shopping out of the way. This year, I am having Santa Claus himself come to these sessions to play with each child! Each session includes a 10 minute personalized play date with Santa, 25 holiday cards, and 3 digital images. Add-ons are available, as well as gift vouches for Christmas presents! For those that do not participate in Santa or Christmas, I will also have a separate area set aside for family portraits. The price for these sessions is $200 and as always, we will have cookies and hot chocolate, as well as some activities for the kids.
These sessions will take place in Doswell, VA and time slots will go fast! I do not offer mini sessions very often, so make sure you reserve your space before it’s too late! I can NOT wait to see all the kid’s faces when they get to interact with Santa!! He will be reading stories, playing trains, Barbies, ball, etc. This Santa is totally legit, awesome and down for anything!
This rain sure has been putting a damper on my scheduled portrait sessions, but I am excited to see the fall colors sprouting up. I’ve been itching to get out and shoot, so this “hurricane” is driving me bonkers. I do … Continue reading →
I’ve been in the process of getting ready for this baby, so I’ve been slowing down my sessions and it’s driving me mad. I so want to be back working consistently, despite being so ridiculously pregnant. I scheduled a couple sessions this weekend, so maybe they will do me in. Or make the baby make an appearance… we’ll see!
In the mean time, I’ve been doing some behind the scenes work on my business, coming up with some super fun ideas for spring/summer mini sessions that you will NOT want to miss out on! I will be announcing and will start booking for them in the next couple months, so keep your eyes peeled. I am SO excited for it!
I’ve also been taking this downtime to do some learning, and am super psyched to be able to put all this new knowledge to use once I can get myself around. I may be doing some casting calls in the near future as well, so if you’re interested, make sure you have liked my page AND hit the ‘follow page’ button at the top since Facebook won’t show you most of my posts.
I’m posting this from my phone, so the quality won’t be great, but I’ll leave you with a photo I took the other day 🙂
