With summer in full swing, it’s a great opportunity to get your family portraits updated!  If you’re going on vacation this year, it really is the perfect to get some updated images of your brood all together.  I travel all over and would love to capture some beautiful pictures of your family on the beach, in the mountains, wherever you may be!  I love working in new locations and my sessions are fully planned out in advance so everyone knows what to wear, what we’ll be doing, what types of images we are shooting for, etc.  That way no one is left feeling uncertain about the session.

If you’d like to schedule your summer portrait session, please e-mail me using the contact form on this website (anikacolombo@gmail.com) and we will plan out an amazing session that fits your family’s style and personalities perfectly!

I have been insanely busy scheduling and shooting this year’s Unicorn Sessions.  The weather has been great for most of them, and the kids have had such a blast playing with the unicorn!  I am currently booking into mid June for these speciality sessions, so if you’d like more information or want to go ahead and reserve your spot, please e-mail me as soon as possible so I can get you on my books.

I had a cake smash session with sweet Lawson recently, and I cannot even tell you how much fun we had shooting this.  This kid kept us laughing and giggling the entire time.  Instead of actually eating his cake, he decided that finger painting was a much better idea.  His expressions had us cracking up.  Cake smashes are one of my favorite types of sessions because they’re so fun.  Incredibly messy, but so, so fun!  Check out some of the highlights from his session!

Rain, rain, go away

This rain sure has been putting a damper on my scheduled portrait sessions, but I am excited to see the fall colors sprouting up.  I’ve been itching to get out and shoot, so this “hurricane” is driving me bonkers.  I do … Continue reading

It has been a busy summer/fall season for me.  I’ve learned a ton of new tricks and have been trying to play around with new techniques.  It’s been fun!  But my poor, poor neglected blog, ha.  Also had this awesome lady come visit me and help me second shoot a wedding!  We’re such goobers… took this photo in a mirror after the wedding reception.  I wish she lived closer to me so I had a permanent photo buddy!

Here are a couple photos from some weddings I’ve been keeping myself busy with this fall.  I love photographing weddings.  I love seeing people so happy and I love being able to capture memories from one of the happiest days of their lives.

I will have some more photos posted soon!  Make sure you become a fan of my Facebook page to receive updates!  This month I have two big events going on for holiday photos.  I am offering mini-sessions in Mechanicsville as well as Doswell, so check my page for details!  It’s a great deal, fun for the kids, and a great way to get photos for your holiday cards!

We have been enjoying our vacation this year with family at the beach so far.  Hurricane Arthur comes through today, but should be sunny again tomorrow.  The weather has been beautiful and the ocean warm almost every day we’ve been here.  Kellan really did not enjoy the sand at first.  He kept wanting me to brush off his feet and hands, but he got used to it by day two and now he loves getting his bucket of “wa-wa” and splashing his toys in it.  He has gotten too brave for me by trying to run into the ocean and also trying to jump into the pool before someone is there to catch him.  Little daredevil has no fear.

Here are a few pics of my little guy on the beach.  More pics to follow on Facebook this week.

I’ve had the privilege of photographing quite a few babies recently.  I love babies!  They’re definitely challenging, but it’s so rewarding to be able to watch them grow up.  Newborns come with their own set of challenges.  I never know what to expect when photographing a new arrival.  Sometimes the baby is perfect.  Sleeps the entire time, minimal fussing, easy to maneuver… but most of the time, the little one requires quite a bit of shushing, rocking, folding, holding, feeding, changing, etc.  As long as you have patience, it can be done!  I have some tips on preparing your newborn to be photographed on my All Things Baby page, if you’re interested in scheduling a session.  Here are a couple newborns I’ve photographed since I last updated, and also a couple 6 month portraits from one of my babies doing the Baby’s First Year package I offer.  So sweet!
